We wanted to tell our readers and fans that Citizen Bare is proudly taking part in the NAMIWalks Vermont 2011 fundraiser that supports NAMI Vermont in providing programs for support, education, and advocacy for families and individuals living with mental illness. When you consider that 1 in 4 adults (57.7 million Americans) experience a mental health disorder in any given year, I think it highlights the need for such programs.
Please come down to the Burlington Waterfront in Burlington, VT on Saturday, September 24, 2011 starting @ 9:30am to register and/or walk for the 5k event starting @ 10:30am. Citizen Bare will play some music during the registration & kickoff…as well as when people return from the walk. Hopefully you can help NAMI meet their fundraising goals too. In other Citizen Bare news…
We are psyched to be putting on a big show @ Higher Ground with The Aerolites in December. We will nail down the details and add another post about that pretty soon.
Also…
We are finally working on creating an album! What do you think of that? I know that we are thrilled for the undertaking. Anybody that is interested in investing into this Citizen Bare project is welcome. And of course we appreciate your support.
Finally…in an anticlimatic way…
Its that time of year again where CB’s website and overall graphical content will be getting an update and some revamping. So please, keep an eye on the website, facebook, and around the town for your Citizen Bare.
Who could ask for anything more out of a gig? The night at the New Moon Café was excellent. There was a great turn-out of many that came out for tasty food, java, and Citizen Bare. In addition to those who came out with the intention of seeing Citizen Bare, were the many people attracted from Cherry and Church Street by the sounds that were coming out of 150 Cherry Street. At one point, the crowd on the sidewalk was getting big enough that it was almost as big as the crowd inside the New Moon. We were thrilled and had a great time!
Here is the final push for Citizen Bare’s gig at the New Moon this Friday. The New Moon Cafe at 150 Cherry Street, Burlington, VT is one of the first venues that Citizen Bare played at as an acoustic duo. This Friday we return as an electric quartet, playing our first acoustic gig.
In previous communications we had been stating that the gig was a benefit for Freedom in Creation, which is an organization that is meant to help bring healing and rehabilitation for former child soldiers through art. Freedom in Creation was June’s benefit organization for the Sound Effect Series at the New Moon.
July’s benefit organization for the Sound Effect Series is Love 146. Love 146 is an organization with a mission for ending child slavery and sex trafficking, which is a cause that Citizen Bare has been raising awareness for through their music since their inception. It’s great to be returning to New Moon and supporting an organization with a purpose that is so important to us.

The July 3rd, 2010 gig with Birchwood Coupe at the Monkey House was a really good time. Thanks to all of our fans who came out in the heat and enjoyed a little bit of the Independence Day weekend with Citizen Bare. Thank you to Birchwood Coupe for inviting us to play the event too.
Highlights of the night included Darin with his shirt off, Andrew getting jiggy with it, and Jesse getting his groove on. If you didn’t make it to this show, you certainly do not want to miss the next one.
