Greetings Y’all!
Embracing the Bear
Lots of fantastical things going on in Bare camp! As I am sure some of you noticed that Andrew James posted a picture of a flashing bear on facebook a couple weeks back. The response was great. So be looking for the new t-shirt to be available sometime in the near future!
We are excited that we broke the 500 “like” mark on our facebook page! We plan on giving away prizes every time we reach a milestone so the more you get your friends to “like” us on facebook, watch our videos on youtube, follow us on Twitter, listen to our music online and requests our songs in the local media the more Bare Gear you have an opportunity to get! Thanks so much to everyone for their constant support. You guys help us keep the Americana Rock coming.
We will be hanging out at Monkey House in Winooski this coming Wednesday, May 2nd checking out our friends The Aerolites who are opening up for Jim Keller (the guy who wrote 8675309).
Past Shows
What an exciting March for Citizen Bare playing a couple of shows and making more than a couple of new friends. We had an extremely successful show at Rusty Nail and we can’t say thanks enough to all who came out to see us. You guys really rock! Everyone who could stick around after our set got a real treat. Enter The Haggis was absolutely amazing! A huge thanks to Coop for helping out on drums! Check him out at Youtube Vibesville.
Aside from the CB car towings the Manhattan Pizza gig with The Owl Stars and Gneiss was fantastic! St. Patty’s weekend was started off right this year thanks to Dwayne for sitting in on that set!
Upcoming Shows
5/4 Friday 9pm @ The Hub in Johnson VT – This show should be an absolute blast! 3 hours of classic Citizen Bare. We will be breaking out all the tricks for this one. We plan on playing some new material at this gig as well so come on out for some fantastic pizza and fancy dancing!
5/10 Thursday 9:30pm @ Manhattan Pizza in Burlington VT – Back in downtown Burlington again after a bit of a hiatus this show is gonna rock! Phil Yates and the Affiliates will be joining us for this show and we couldn’t be more jacked. You can also hear Professor Yates every Thursday at 2pm SPORK on 88.7 The Mike.
There will definitely be more shows announced and some that are already up on http://citizenbare.com so be sure you keep checking in!
Last but not least….
Please be sure to check out our YouTube page as we are going to be uploading some new videos in the next few weeks. Feel free to subscribe to our page if you like what you see. We will be recording in the next few months so keep your eyes out for that as well. We plan on doing things a little differently this time around probably releasing a single song at a time and possibly even letting you pick which songs we work on. Check out the poll on our website!
Until next time,
Citizen Bare

Greetings Y’all!

Citizen Bare Radio Bean gig
Hard to believe It’s been nearly a month since our last post and so many fantastic things have transpired since then. First lets start off with the present…as in tomorrow.
The Present
We have a gig tomorrow night at Radio Bean, in downtown Burlington. We go on at 10:30PM. Dwayne Doner, a Jericho local will be joining us on drums that evening. It should be a blast! There will be at least 3 other bands playing so come on down and hang out with us for a bit. Fingers crossed that we do not have another snow storm like we did the last time we played at Radio Bean.
We still have physical copies of our new EP Carnival if you are interested. They are $6. You can also find it online at itunes, Amazon or cdbaby. We also have t-shirts in men and women’s sizes for $15. You can place orders here at citizenbare@gmail.com
The Past
What a stupendous first few months of 2012 for CB! We have played 3 super gigs with some pretty damn amazing bands and folks! Our show on February 3 at The Monkey House was a huge success. Pretty amazing that for one night in Burlington there were count em four Patterson’s on stage! This Way and Kingsley Flood were fantastic! These two bands are playing another show together on Saturday in Portland, Maine. Check them out if you are headed that way. We owe many thanks to Tyson Valyou who did a fantastic job playing drums for us. Be sure to check out his other bands: Husbands AKA and Vetica, playing tonight at The Monkey House.
Citizen Bare played a short set this month at the open mic at On Tap in Essex.
Air Time
Carrie Henry from The Local Spotlight on The Point was at the Monkey House show that night. She loved what she saw and decided to highlight Citizen Bare, This Way and Kingsley flood on the point that weekend. Carrie gave us a great compliment on air saying Citizen Bare was “out of this world”. Thanks to Carrie and the point for giving us some great press.
Andrew James got a great opportunity to interview on Radio Free New England this month. Listen to his interview at RadioFreeNewEngland.
Phil Yates has been playing our tunes on St. Michael’s College radio station, The Mike. Phil’s band… Phil Yates and the Affiliates has been rocking around town.
Citizen Bare has remained at the top of the charts on FreeRadioVermont for the last month. Its exciting to get to hear our tunes on the air and we really appreciate the support!
And last but certainly not least our Carnival EP was reviewed in Seven Days by music critic Dan Bolles, which you can read by clicking on the link above. We really appreciate Dan’s reviewing this album!
“While the bulk of the band’s material falls in the alt-country rubric, Citizen Bare do dabble outside the genre’s twangy constraints. Traces of jam, soul and straight-up rock can be heard throughout. That deference to myriad stylistic influences is largely a strength, and suggests a healthy sonic curiosity and willingness to take risks. “ Dan Bolles, Seven Days
The Future
We have a few gigs coming up that we are super psyched about.
February 24th @ 10:30pm, Radio Bean, Burlington.
March 16th @ 9:30pm, Manhattan Pizza, Burlington. Start your St. Paddy’s day celebration weekend with us downtown. It will be a fantastic night to come out and hear some CB tunes.
March 31st @ The Rusty Nail, Stowe. We are opening for Enter the Haggis, a Toronto band. We have tickets to sell for $12. They are $15 at the door so be sure to contact your favorite CB member to get yours early. Of course, you can always email us to tell us how many tickets you want. This should be a great show for CB so don’t miss it!
Lastly don’t forget that you can find us on Facebook & Twitter giving up to the minute updates!
See you soon!
