May 20th Monkey House

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

First off just wanted to say a big thank you for all those people who came out last night, I know that both Giovanni and I had a great time and were really happy to see everyone having a good time as well. Also wanted send a big shout out to Allen Gratton for playing along and singing back up vocals on the last minute inclusion to the set list(below), Steve Millers “Rockin’ me,” we really appreciate it:)

We do try to play at the Monkey House roughly once a month, we will also be setting up a time to play a Saturday at the New Moon Cafe sometime soon as well. We look forward to playing at The Grays house in Richmond sometime in June.

At some point John and I plan on recording some tunes and hope to have that done by late fall, but seriously though who knows? Also check back here for information regarding Allen Gratton’s Bluegrass project.

DA DA DA

Ok here are the lyrics for Da Da Da another AndrewJames Original.

Da Da Da

here is something I can’t understand

I know your love like I know the back of my hand

They tell me things could get out of control

I need some wisdom to know that I don’t know

I shoot rockets randomly into the night

But credit me this atleast I’m still in the fight

reveal to me whatever I need to grow

don’t look now there goes the ground below

Da da da Da da da Da da da

I don’t know 2X

I read the news and see that people died

oh well that’s far away from you and I

it’s hard enough to think about how to get by

at least but fightings far away from you and I

I got a little sad when saw the news last night

Don’t worry about things that don’t affect us guys

How I keep going pretending like things are alright

stop your pondering it’s far away from you and I

Da da da Da da da Da da da

I don’t know 2X

Come good consumers come gather round

we are about hear what good Father found

slaves and graves are stocked on your shelves

unaware you cared for nothing but yourselves

what makes me sad is you didn’t even ask

about your brothers picking up your slack

Wasted talents and inconvenience are the sins that you carry

please don’t tell me that people are worth less than prosperity

Da da da Da da da Da da da

I don’t know

here is something I can’t understand

I know your love like I know the back of my hand

please help me move beyond what I know

give us one more chance to show we can grow.

Lyrics- In His Eyes

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Hey Y’all, I have had a few people now ask me about a few of the songs that we do that they had never heard before. I am pretty sure that we have given a song list and given credit to the writer of the song. This particular song In His Eyes was one that I had written in Belfast during my time of Peace and Reconciliation work.

Hey Read this book

‘Song of the Bird’ by Anthony DeMello

Anyways here are the lyrics

in His eyes

do you see it? he said to me

are you starting to get the signals?

are you starting to receive?

How could i miss it

the ice cream mans hidden song

maybe i don’t believe it

but i hear it all night long

how can i shut it out

how can i shut it down

the good book says about

the good books says about

what?

one man two man a woman makes four

a child a human a perfect score

we soiled the land with red blood and black

with the words of peace started the attack

We were searching for God

but not in His eyes

devils knows the book

Oh Lord he knows

We were looking for answers

we were killing our brothers

the carriers of heaven

breaking Gods heart

He cry cry cry cries

do you hear what i hear

see what i see and believe what i believe

How could you miss it

the holy mans hidden song

you don’t have to believe it

but profess all day long

how can i shut it out

how can i shut it down

the good book says about

the good books says about

what?

He Cries a river of tears

he cries

don’t walk down that path my son

that’s a trail of tears that we’re treading upon

how could we miss it

the governments hidden song

don’t have to believe it

that won’t make it go away

how can i shut it out

how can i shut it down

the good book says about

the good books says about

what?
